IHSW for April

I decided to start a rotation. I have found that I seem to have Stitcher's ADD, and I get bored quickly if I only work on one project.

This is the Gadsden Flag pattern, and my husband was thrilled when I purchased it. He even took an interest in what fabric I chose for it as he plans to have it framed and hung up in his garage. My husband is retired from the USMC and while I have some EGA patterns waiting to be done, this was the one he wanted completed first.

The fabric is 28ct Jobelan hand-dyed by Stephanie Bishop in Sunflower. It is perfect!

The stitching is going quickly now. I had to frog one entire evening's worth of work since I was off by an entire row, but I'm glad I did the frogging.

A Small Intermission

My older two girls started making their own jewelry lately. I liked how easy it was, but I felt they weren't being very creative with this endeavor. So, I started looking at different sites to help them find inspiration and directions. At the same time, I also had purchased FOBs for my scissors, and I realized that it looked like a very simple project, and with the cost of the items I was seeing on the website, then surely I could do this kind of stuff.

So, since I wasn't able to do a lot of stitching lately, here's what I accomplished:

As you can see, I was busy during the last few weeks. I am cleaning up the pictures of my IHSW work, and I will get it posted soon.

Going to Verification...Sorry!

I have worked very hard to keep this blog "verification free." However, my accounts all got hacked yesterday, and it initially cost me just over $1,000. I was having emails from an Anonymous source on one particular post, and I could tell it was spam, but they kept coming. I am not sure if that is the same group of people that drained my personal accounts or not, but because of it all, I have changed my blog to require the verification. I know that it is a pain, and I apologize, but I lost 7 hours of my life yesterday in fixing the hack-job, and I still have to make some calls tomorrow during business hours to be sure that I have my own identity and that I'm not sharing it with a total butt-head at this point.

Please continue to enjoy my blog, and I love comments if you don't mind typing in those numbers and letters to leave them for me.

Hope everyone is able to enjoy their stitching this weekend!

Making Progress

My hands have been doing better. I am happy to report that my employer purchased a great program for me to use that is speech-to-text which is saving me from typing so much. I have to use the braces in order to stitch, but now that I have grown accustomed to them a bit, I am making some progress.

My daughter is excited to see this come to life in front of her - much like she was with the J Fairy. It's funny to me, but she is enjoying my work on this one a lot more than the J Fairy, and she says it's because this one is "about her." I hope to finish it soon, but there is a large bottom portion of this pattern.
