So, here she is: 66 hours of stitching and over 40 additional hours of beading. Jordan is completely lovely!
There is some serious bling on this fairy!
I had my youngest daughter, Jordan, come into my office to see "her" fairy. She could not believe that her Jordan Fairy was finally finished!
Once I was done, I had to take pictures and get them uploaded. I just couldn't wait. After everything was cleaned up and put away, I happily relaxed. I could not believe the amount of tension in my shoulders trying to get her done. Whew!
I wonder why we always put such stress in our projects. We do stitching as our hobby yet were always stressing (me included) about how long we take, how many we have started and how much stash we have. But she is worth it and your daughter looks really happy and appreciative. Oh I love your Its Finally Finished Pic.
ReplyDeleteNormally, stitching totally relaxes me, but I just sooooo wanted to finish the beading and finish. I am now basking in the glow of a finish. LOL Feel free to "borrow" the Finally Finished Pic - especially since I had borrowed it from somewhere. I love being able to use that!
DeleteLooking at your finish, Jordan, I am reminded of why I read others blogs. She is beautiful, I love the beads, this is just an amazing hobby. Excellent
ReplyDeleteI, too, love to visit others' blogs and get motivated to work on my projects. Thank you!
DeleteCongratulations, she is gorgeous!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
DeleteWhat a cute blog you have, I love that header! Now, about this fairy - she is GORGEOUS! I know it was a heck of a lot of work but wow, the finished product is exquisite. Really spectacular!
ReplyDeleteRosemary - thank you!! I loved creating the header, and I am glad that no matter what else I post here, I will still have my love of all things tropical reflected. Thank you for the kudos on Jordan.
DeleteThose are great pictures of your awesome work. I can see the beading! Very pretty!

Wow--what a beautiful finish! Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Jordan is beautiful... Both your stitching and your DD :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Veronica.
Thanks Veronica - I don't normally plaster my children, but I loved the happy look the youngest had.
DeleteWonderful finish - your fairy is gorgeous. Your DD looks so pleased with it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your finish!!! I always wanted to see the "J" completed (my first initial) and now I must say I am tempted to start it! The fabric was a great choice, I bet the motteling is even better in person. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh! You'll definitely need her if she's your letter. I bought Spring Breeze from Steph Bishop. www.stephsfabbys.com. She made three pieces so my daughters will all have similar fabrics for their initials. You'll love her work if you haven't purchased from her yet. ;)
DeleteIgnoring friends for stitching... why does that sound so familiar? Oh yeah.... LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteJ is GORGEOUS!!!!!! And Jordan is positively beaming holding it. What a beautiful pair. :D
Thank you for the comments on the piece and my little one. I'm still taking some jokes at having ignored our friend while he was here, but he is also talking about what I was doing. Very cool.
